Formspring helps people find out more about each other through sharing interesting & personal responses.
Formspring encourages people to find out more about each other in a simple and fun way. It starts by directly asking people original questions in anticipation of their entertaining or revealing responses. Responses can range from straightforward to surprising and can lead to understanding something more about the people you know or find interesting. Whether you are curious to know more about a college you are applying to, the movies your friend likes, or the stories of someone you respect, on Formspring, you can have fun, share insights, and relate to one another in a new way.

Formspring was founded in November 2009 by Ade Olonoh in Indianapolis, Indiana to give people a fun, new way to find out more about each other.
Ade created Formspring after closely watching how people were using his previous company’s products, online forms for businesses. In the summer of 2009, he noticed that while the forms were designed for businesses to receive questions from customers, every day people had started to use the very same forms to ask other people questions and to seek responses.
A few days before Thanksgiving in 2009, Ade was inspired to create a new service called Formspring.me: “form” which reflects the act of crafting a question, and “spring” to reveal the response. He focused on making sure Formspring.me was a simple and fun way to ask and answer people’s questions, just like a quick conversation in person. With that, what had started as forms for businesses was soon transformed into a social response platform.
One million people registered to use Formspring.me in just 45 days. The company soon moved to San Francisco in 2010, where the team continues to expand and drive the rapid growth of more than 20 million registered people responding to one another and revealing their personalities, giving 10 million responses every day.
